Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

I personally think that it is Neville Longbottom...Hary is not a full blood..he is a half blood, becauses his mum's parents where muggles...it could be the same with Neville... we know that his dad had a witch for a mother...so that still leaves him as a posibility.

I think that Voldemort sees himself as the king of wizards and perhaps he want to install a kind of heir, a prince in his opinion. If so, it could be someone from his mother's familiy, Tom Riddle's mother, I mean. Perhaps his mother was related to someone whom we already know?

i agree with the mark evans theroey because it all fits together and as for the bit about the dusleys being potters only relatives, didnt dumbledore say that potter would be better to be away from all the fame(beginning of book 1) so maybe he deliberately chose potter to live with the dursleys instead of the evans

J.K. Rowling said in her website that the prince is niether Harry nor Voldemort. She also said that she was going to call "Camber of Secrets" "the half blood prince", but then decided that the HBP info was better off in book six. So that means that the half blood prince was probably introduced in book 2. I still have no idea who it is--maybe Colin Creevey? I cant remember if his parents are muggles or if just one of them is.

Oh, and as for the Mark Evan theory--J.K. Rowling said that he wasnt meant to be anything important. She didnt even realize taht he had Lily's last name till after the books were published.

I thought J.K. Rowling said in one of her interviews (or on her website - I don't remember for sure) that at one point the title of CoS was going to be HBP. She also said there is stuff in HBP that she origanally put in CoS then changed her mind. Who's the half-blood in CoS? My money is on Hagrid. (Sorry if someone else already posted this - I don't have time right now to read all 200 something responses)

JK has already said on jkrowling.com that the half blood prince is not Harry or Voldy. it has to be someone new 'cause think about it, all the existing characters are full bloods or muggle borns. All Weasly's, Sirius,Lupin, Mr and Draco Malfoy, Crabbe, goyle, Neville, Luna, McGonagall, Snape, Dumbledore are all full blood. Hermione is a muggle born. Filch is a Squibb. so unless it's someone in "DA" or unless it's some member of the order of the Phoenix, it leads you to believe that it's someone new. The only one whom i think it's an outside possibility is Hagrid. he was half Giant, half wizard,(which makes him half blood) so maybe he's a prince of a group of Giants. but I don't think so.

alrock718. Ash has been posted many times already, Hagrid is out of the question. He is Half BREED not Half Blood. And Mark Evans is a passerby character. Why would JK start another mystery with only 2 books to go(including HBP). It doesn't make sense! I Think its Tom Riddle. Its the only one that makes sense. If you read that part about Dean Thomas she says that his Character is just like Neville but Neville will play a more important role in the rest of the books. But dont get any bright ideas, Neville is Pure Blood.

Firstly can every1 remember that HBP was going to be the title of COS, therefore the 'Prince' must have been mentioned in the cos. meaning the main candidates are hagrid, colin, seamus, dean, tom riddle (different personality) justin and lockheart. the is also the possibility that the 'prince' is not human, which means that it could be dobby, why would jk care so much about hermiones fight to emancipate them, even dumbledore comments that even they matter. the only other non human is arangog (spider)tom riddles knew about him. also people are getting to carrid aay with the title 'prince' it may not mean an actual prince, if there was any type of monachy in the wizarding world i think we would know about it, so it is likely that it is a tittle the person adopts themselves or by other people (do u really think that lord voldemort is a real lord) and finally who said tht the prince was good for all we know that prince may be evil

Okay, so J. K. Rowling has confirmed that it is not Harry or Voldemort. I think it has something to do with Neville but it's not Neville. Maybe it's a new character we know of but don't really know, if you know what I'm saying. Yeah, that's confusing.

I reallt=y don't think that it could be Colin Creevey. I just think that he is a regular type character, say a Penelope Clearwater or the Patil sisters. We don't even know if he is half-blood, meaning part muggle. All we know about him is that his dad was a milkman and he has a younger brother. No mention was made of his mother.

I still stand by my guess that it is Tom Riddle. Harry Potter is the only KNOWN survivor of the Avera Kedavara. As it was told to Harry ( in OotP), you have to truly enjoy people in pain to inflict the Unforgivable curses. Perhaps Voldemort wasn't powerful enough to inflict it yet. He would of used it while he was still in Hogwarts, 40 some years before Harry was even born...

JK Rowling said that it is neither Harry nor Voldemort, and she also said that the Half Blood Prince is mentioned in Book 2- the Chamber of Secrets.

remember cos dobby said it doesnt have anything to do w/ voldemoRt. and at the end harry said i thought u said it doesnt have to do w/ him and dobby said i was giving you a hint.. maybe jkr is giving us a hint itS NOT VOLDEMORT Ahh a hint? maybe it could be tom riddle. and people keep on saying it has to be someone in cos because rowling was gonna name cos hbp THERE CAN BE MORE THAN ONE HALF blood prince
