Magic outside of school in harry potter?

Has anyone noticed in the movies that the kids keep using magic out of schools. Like wen hermione fixes harry's glasses in cos. And in the book cos percy takes 5 points b cuz harry and ron are in the girls bathroom, but in ootp draco takes points away and the kids say prefects cant do that then he tells them how hes part of the squad thing

Prefects are allowed to take points, it says so on JK's website. Ron just gets it wrong in OOTP

on the train is the one time in between school and home that ur allowed to use magic

Well, how many times in the movies has Hermione used magic and many others (can't think of others right now). I was always wondering why they never get into trouble. I don't remember if any of them used magic outside of school in the books. In the movies, less people care.

I think it has something to do with the area. In book 5 the way the MOM found out that harry was doing illegal magic was becuz they had a way of sensing magical activity in certain areas and there was not suppose to be magical activity in privet drive cuz harry,the only wizard in the area was underage. In harry's second year when hermoine fixed harry's glasses in diagon alley they were outside of hogwarts and under the age limit, they didn't get in trouble becuz diagon alley is a magical village and so all sorts of magical activity goes on there.
