Last time I asked this question I had loads of fab answers. I've just finish with, We need to talk about Kevin, The time traveller wife(loved it!!!), A prayer for Owen Meany, and one hundred years of solitude(still battling through this a page at a time).

You have four of my favourite books there! A Prayer for Owen Meaney is perhaps top of my list but the others are excellent. I found Gabriel Garcia Marqez ' "Love in the Time of Cholera" an easier read than One Hundred Years of Solitude.
For an easier read you could try Zadie Smith "On Beauty",
"Shadow of the Wind" (can never remember the author!), Michael Cox "The Meaning of Night" or for something very strange try "Kafka on the Shore" by Haruki Murakami.
I've just started Susannah Clarke's "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norell" which is supposed to be very good.

Astonishing Splashes of Colour by Claire Morrall.... and The Lovely Bones, both beautifully written

It looks as if you like fiction ...

I dont read a lot these days (Im ashamed to say), but I could recommend ...

[Youve very likely read most of these already!]

A Town Like Alice (Nevil Shute)
The Crow Road (Iain Banks)
The Onion Eaters (J.P. Donleavy) ... a bit naughty though!

THANK YOU ALL!!!!!

I am a bit sick of trashy chick lit. It's too expensive and I read it so quickly, I can never remember the plot or chararters.
I just read The horse whisperer and The smoke jumper both by Nicholas Evans - great stories and easy reading, I really enjoyed them both.
Been out a while now too so you can pick them up at charity shops pretty cheaply or ebay

...Piece of cake by Cupcake Brown was good too
I really enjoyed How Not To Talk To A Widower by Jonathan Tropper.

Also for inspiration try the Top 100 Big Read List http://www.bbc.co.uk/arts/bigread/top100.shtml
I review books for a newspaper and one of my favourites of last year was:
Ascent by Jed Mercurio
