I recently visited a Falconry Centre and there was a board displaying little notes of thanks from visiting schoolchildren.
In the middle was a notecard from their teacher which said (I quote);-
'Thank you for the day, the children found it a wonderful
experiance'
Pretty dismal if their teacher can't even spell 'experience'.

I do wonder about teachers sometimes. I work in a village shop which also has a post office in it, but the post office is separate, in the corner, behind a screen with all the notices and stuff about post office services. Anyway, this morning one of the classes from the local primary school all troop in, the kids line up and the teacher hands out envelopes to them to be weighed and then stamped, then starts sending the kids to my counter where there are newspapers, sandwiches etc for sale. When I mentioned that she might want the post office - in the corner- she seemed really surprised. Could she not tell that I was not the post office, and why didn't she do a 'recce' before bringing all the kids?
Honestly, the mind boggles!

Last week at Junior Overall's school summer fair, I picked up a few items to buy from a stall, totted up the amount and handed the correct money to the teacher manning the stall.
She looked at me in amazement and asked me how I knew how much to pay.
What's worrying is that she will be teaching my son maths next year.
