Elizabeth the Queen by Alison Weir. I've read it twice. I have also read Silence of the Lambs 3 times. Its an excellent book and much better than the film.

Elizabeth I is my favourite monarch in British history. She is a fascinating subject to read about. I love historical figures anyway.

I am currently reading a book about Jane Boleyn who was married to Anne Boleyns brother. She was executed following the downfall of Catherine Howard.
sorry to lower the tone, but I loved, "the curious incident of the dog in the night-time"!
Rosetta, how could you read a book more than once? Dont you find it becomes boring especially since you will know what the next chapter is about?

Sara, thank you for that, I ve seen loads of reviews for that book, but never got round to it. Its definitely on my list!!

Lajohn How many films have you watched when you have knownthe ending. No difference!!! Some books are definitely worth a second ( or more) read. In fact, bits you missed get oickrd up another time
I agree Rosetta. Each time I read The Silence of the Lambs I got something new from it. The same with Elizabeth.
I'll throw out a few suggestions:-

Grapes of wrath - John Steinbeck.
Wild Swans - Jung Chang.
Amongst Women - John Mc Gahern.

If you're in the mood for a thriller, anything from Tess Gerritsen or Jeffrey Deaver have good stories and are well written.

Talking of John Steinbeck, Of Mice and Men is also a brilliant book.
