I read a children's book in the 1970's. iI seemd to be set on the moors with a lot of bog-holes, where a person could fall in and drown. The main character is a boy who is a loner. I emember him running through the moors to escape something and- because he knew the layout of the nogholes he was able to leap around them and escape.
does anybody know this book?
