Henning Mankell

Why is it that I can't get to grips with the novels of Henning Mankell?...is it the unfamiliarity of Swedish place names or that I find the main protaganist a bit dour...or what?...or aint it just my thing - yet I do like the Germany-set novels of Craig Russell and I don't know those place names. Ta Muchly.

Mankell isn't everyones cup of tea .
I've read the whole Wallander series ,well all the ones that have been translated for the UK market and thoroughly enjoyed them .
I suppose the places mentioned in the books aren't as familiar to us as Fabels Hamburg for example .
Perhaps you might like another of his books.
Give ..The Man from Bejing a try.
Or try his book The Pyramid .This tells us about Wallander as a young man and goes a long way to explaining why he is such a dour person .It's Mankell looking back on his creation .
Craig Russells books are good .
I love crime fiction .I'm addicted ...Smile.....

Many Thanks Shaney, I too love crime fiction and though I've tried a few times with Mankell, I will give your suggestions a try, if they're on audio that is...smile!
