Belly button piercing

I've taken my belly button piercing out as it has become infected. How long should I leave it until I have it done again and will it hurt?

I wouldnt have it done again after an infection.

How long has it been pierced? I wouldnt have taken it out if it its infected if its just gonna close up and trap the infection inside it

I had it done September 2006, I think the problem was I wasn't told not to change the ring for a while and kept chaning them. Not sure its even infected just very sore and sort of swollen.

ah right well it shouldnt close up then. I would keep it out for a few days, wash it with saline solution 9the stuff you use for contact lenses) or salt water, see if if clears up.
If it does you could get it done again in a few months, I'm just about to get my tragus redone, I took it out a few month ago cause it was infected.

maybe you were struggling with the material it was made from. You could have tried an alternative such as nylon for a while.

Put a titanium/real silver one back in and leave it - keep it real clean like you did when first had it pierced and if it starts to puss go and get antibiotics from doctors. ahnces are you wont be able to hav it re-pierced, so work throught the pain and youll have a piercing at the end of it.

You should not remove a piercing when it becomes infected unless told to do so by your piercer, the easiest way of cleaning an infection is through the pierced hole, not wait until it has healed with the infection still inside!!

You should have just left it in and got some tcp and cleaned it up every day or gone to the doctors and got antibiotics, it didnt happen coz you kept changing it, it is coz its a foreign object that has been put in your body and your body dont want it there, if you get it done again the same thing will happen.
Same thing happened to me when i got my belly done and a madonna my body hated it and took me ages to heel but my body gave up in the end because i would not take them out and i dont have any problems now.
