when you open a new bottle of nail varnish it goes on lovely doesnt it, but after a few uses, i find it starts to thicken and doesnt go on so well and doesnt look so nice.
is it when air gets into the bottle it starts to affect it?
i know applying a drop of nail varnish remover into the bottle helps to solve this problem for a short while,
but does anyone know of any tips on how to prolong the newness for a bit longer please?
thanks! :o)

Keeping the bottle closed except when actually charging the brush would help. Often women open the bottle and leave it open whilst they apply it, which is when it evaporates. Otherwise buy some of the solvent and add a bit to the bottle from time to time.
The most common solvents used are either acetone or ethyl acetate. You can tell which by smell - ethyl acetate has a sweet smell of pear drops. If the brush is attached to the bottle lid apart from putting a small piece of aluminium foil over the bottle opening, whilst the brush is out to keep it in? Probably getting nail varnish remover (which is made up of the same solvents) and adding a bit regularly is your best bet! Or use a lot so you get through the bottle quickly!
Androcles, is this your specialist subject?!!!
first, some nail varnishes are much better than others and spending a lot doesn't necessarily mean you'll get longer lasting nail varnish. some people keep theirs in the fridge (not me), my top tip would be to make sure the thread on the bottle and inside of the lid stay clean, then the bottle will be air tight when you're not using it. don't keep it in or near a high heat, or in sunlight.
