just a quick question for a doc

im on isotetronoin tabs for acne, i was so angry yesterday, i nearly hung myself, is this a side effect of this medication,i was shocked about what i was about to do, but the thought wore off and i went to bed. im so glad i didnt do that, i could have died.

I am in no way medically qualified but to tide you over till someone comes along who is. This is a rare but recorded side effect of this drug and you need to report it to your GP.

Never heard of that side effect and never seen it recorded, but mamyalynne has and hence would take her advice and see your GP

my son was on this medication and it definately had an effect on his moods. as mama says, it is a well recorded side effect and if i remember rightly, richard todd's son took his own life whilst on it. if it's still only available through a consultant at the hospital as it used to be, ring the hospital and get yourself back there.

I'm sorry but anyone here and on other forums can claim to be a GP/surgeon etc etc.
Please speak to your GP - he or she can give you real life advice
