The sun is out the sky is blue and it may very well hot up a bit a bit soon which means less slap. .This winter has taken it's toll on my skin and in spite of exfoliating ,cleansing and whatnot it looks dingy to me .
I don't expect miracles at my age but just need something to brighten my skin a bit and make it look a bit fresher .Do any of you use face packs on a regular basis and if so what can you recommend .

I loved actually hand-writing letters but I'm afraid the habit dropped off when I got into 'puting.
I'm signing off now so I'll say goodnight Everybiddy. Sleep tight.
See yer later 'gater(s)

I still write letters with a fountain pen on nice paper with matching envelopes .I correspond regularly with my old school friends although I Email one more often than not but the other one likes letters as she isn't into computers ..I also write to some Germans ,inherited from ma in law ...elderly folk who like a letter and don't have computers .
Glad you have some company Woofie ..enjoy xx
You all keep asking about Mr S ..well ..he's not so good .I don't think this op has done the trick . He's Ok in himself but running in out all day the same as he was with the catheter .In and out of the bathroom all night . It's very painful still and he's piddling post op debris
I think having the catheter all that time has weakened the muscles and he can't control it properly .We'll have to wait and see how things go ....ho hum ....
Goodnight all .Have a peaceful one x.

Aren't you good writing letters. I haven't written a letter in years and I must admit I have never enjoyed writing letters, although I used to. I am thankful for phones and emails because I am now enthusiastic about keeping in touch. I do manage the odd card with a swift message inside. I used to be an extremely fast shorthand writer and take verbatim minutes in long meetings - it ruined my handwriting because it make me so impatient it took so long. I still find myself putting bits of shorthand in when I write.
Shaney, hopefully Mr S's muscles and bladder will relearn how to work properly. I understand they can be retrained - has he been offered any help with this?
I think my original thought about the woman in The Jury who was from the first jury was correct and that she is acting on behalf of all the first jury (or one or all of the murdered girls family members) to make sure that a guilty verdict is once again given. Not sure whether she is telling the truth about the throw though.
Off to bed very shortly
So glad you have your sister with you Woof.
Night night.
xx

Yes I think you're right Lofty having watched tonight .She's planted the seed of doubt into his mind now and as foreman he's now between a rock and a hard place .
They haven't offered any help but if it doesn't settle soon he'll be down to the doctors ! The hospital want to see him in two months time .
I'm going to bed now ....I am ... I am :)

oh, poor Mr S - can you reboot muscles, so to speak?
I used to be able to write an elegant italic script with a calligraphic pen but like Jude I do most writing with a keyboard now, so I should think I've lost the knack. And I've also lost the pen. I only ever did it for special events, birthday cards and so on; my usual handwriting is a scrawl, and it's got worse. I'm always impressed by people who can write in a moving train. Maybe I hold the pen too tight or something but whenever I try it and there's the slightest bump the writing just shoots off all over the place.

Shaney tell Mr S to hang in, its very very early days. While he is peeing debris, he will be up and down like a yo yo, he needs to keep his intake well up and get it all washed away.
useful stuff here about bladder retraining.

good morning, 11.11.11. Won't be able to say when it is 11mins past 11 cos it'll be different here. Lovely sunny and warm day.
Haven't read the last couple of posts as I don't want to read about the Jury as I have only seen the first episode (twice as wasn't concentrating the first time). Am enjoying it.
Poor Mr S, hopefully it'll sort itself out, but as you told me, operations often affect that area, so give it time.
Was very pleased with the blood test yesterday, there is no internal bleeding or swelling which I always get. Still have a large lump on other arm inside elbow from blood test taken 3yrs ago!

Sorry Mr S is struggling shaney but as the others have said it's early days and he was a long time without control. Don't despair.
I'll keep this short in case it goes again....

Hello, I do not write letters anymore as handwriting is bad for some reason (laziness??) I type them all, and xmas cards are just scribbled.
Just bought 60€ worth of English food,ie sausages and bread (Jacksons) and 2 big tins of Quality street (10€ each and that's cheap) Mr Kipling mince pies, instant custard. fruit tea cakes, pkt crumpets and large packet of cocktail sausage rolls, and a box of 12 xmas crackers. yay ! have hidden the xmas things under the bed or we'll have eaten them all by next week!

Hi Biddies,
Had quite a nice day. Went with Mr LL to diabetic appointment with nurse. He is only just diabetic and in fact his blood sugar today is normal. No worries.
Received cheque for land sale and Mr LL and I went on a mini celebration to friends Thai Restaurant/pub and had some lovely chargrilled duck breast in a sauce of blackberries and horseradish, with some egg fried rice and veg. Sounds weird but was delicious. He cooked it specially for us, bless him.
Just had eggs on toast covered with tomato sauce (so I can't taste the eggs). Am about to watch Corrie and then The Jury.
A satisfying day, even though the weather is horrible.
See you tomorrow.
Have a good evening and a peaceful night. I am sure Mr S. will be fine Shaney, as Woof says, it will take a while.

Oooh ..bit of twist at the end Lofty ....she was her sister after all .
I had a bit of a tear in my eye when that young chap was going off to America but changed his mind .What a kind person that elderly juror was to help him like that .And I'm glad it got to the bottom of that chap going in the tanning salon every day ! I really enjoyed it .
Sounds as if you've had a good day .Hope Mr LL continues to be OK .
Goodnight all .Sleep well ..see you all tomorrow xx

Just been watching My House in Umbria, with Maggie Smith.
Well, what a load of tripe. Umbria did look pretty, though.
