Gallstones, jaundice and wedding!!
13 Answers
Yes I do not think anyone will be surprised to hear I am on here again. My SIL came out of hospital at 1.30 on saturday and got married at 3.00. But as soon as I walked into church I could see he was really ill still and in great pain. The service went ahead and they are now married. But..........here it comes. as soon as we got to the reception hotel he asked if he could go up to the room we had booked for the night and have a lie down.. He took some painkillers but clearly was not well. My daughter went up to see him shortly afterwards and came down to tell us he was in terrible pain and couldnt get his breath as it hurt so much. My other son in law phoned up for an ambulance. When they came put him on oxygen and took him back to hospital. Where he still is. At first they thought his breathing was caused by fluid on the lungs and the pain from another stone that had moved. As he was jaundice again. But as today they have found out he hasnt got fluid on his lungs and another stone hasnt moved. They are doing xrays and other tests this afternoon. I am really worried about him but suspect it is all to do with the problems he had last week. Or could it be something else.?

As you know, it came out...I wouldnt worry too much, get the latest results before that - just hope that there has been no rupture of the gallbladder as if that, he will be undegoing surgery straight away and, on that basis when I think about it, it probably hasn't as you would have heard by now.
It was a gamble to let him out of hospital 3 days before his marriage with a diagnosis of pancreatitis which is a debilitating disorder. i am soory but not surprised that it turned out that way.
Yes, it could be "something else" but there is no evidence to date, that you have given,to suggest an alternative diagnosis.

many thanks for your replies.
sqad, I knew you wouldnt be surprised and to be honest with you I have always listened to your advise and not once have you been anything but spot on. So when you said that last week I was well prepared to them having to cancel. My son in law was so set on getting married he wouldnt let anything stop him, which I admire very much, as he must love my daughter very much to go through all that just to marry her on that day. So now we have to wait until he is better before he can start his married life. Is this breathing problem part of it do you think.? Or was it just too soon.? Today in hospital he felt better this morning, they got him out of bed and after an hour his breathing was bad again and he was in great pain.
