Try to eat sensibly - do not overdo anything - and cut down on sweets and fizzy drinks - go for walks (be careful where you walk alone) - this will save you money and won't cost anything and you should loose weight gradually which is the best way to do it. If ungry between meals eat carrot, apples or fruits.  If desperate for choc eat a small piece but try to be strong.
All the above and exercise, exercise, exercise. You'll get fit, feel great and burn off loads of fat.
Very good advice from above. Cut out eating in between meals. Avoid processed food and encourage whoever does the cooking to just use raw inghredients- ie- vegetables, chicken, fish etc. Things in packets always have SO much more added sugar/salt/fat than we need. So, just have breakfast (cereal), lunch (a sandwich or something simple) and dinner (an evening meal with lots of veg), and fruit as snacks, and you will see a difference really soon- and still be eating healthier! Don't deny yourself chocolate- just see it as an occasional treat. I lost 2 stone doing Slimming World, which included having a creme egg every day!!!

To Scarlett, how long were you on slimming world if you don't mind me asking?

Agree with all of above, a few weeks ago I began walking for half an hour every day and lost 7lb in as many days!

I'd also add that if you are going to be exercising more then drink lots (about 1.5 - 2 litres) of water a day, if you don't drink enough then your body retains what it has and you become bloated, also by drinking lots of water you flush out your system and get rid of the bad bits your body doesn't need!

Snack on seeds, nuts, fruit and veg and you will notice a difference not only in your weight, but you'll sleep better, you skin, hair and nails will improve, you'll have more energy.....

And mostly, I would say try and eat fresh as far as possible and don't eat processed pap.

i agree with all of the above... sounds excellent.  I would advise swimming as well and definitely lots of walking.  If you have a dog, just take them for a walk for 20-30mins....  Also snack on sunflower and pumpkin seeds (sounds nasty, but taste lovely).  I also snack on raw sugar snap peas.

Get into good habits now!!

I've joined weight watchers online- www.weightwatchers.co.uk it is so good, do it in your own tim, no embarassing meetings etc.  Ask your Mum or someone you are close to to mentor you, they can spur you on when you hiccough, and congratulate your successes.  WW helps you realise what is in the food you are eating, and how much you eat- I was appauled, no wonder I was over 15 stone at 22years old!  Not now though :o)  You will be so proud of yourself, and the chat rooms on WW online are like a supportive band of sisters!!

Good Luck Jelly Tot

Well, I did Slimming World for about 5 or 6 months I think. I lost weight steadily and easily. I don't actually think it is a particularly healthy diet. It does encourage you to eat a lot of processed food- a lot of which is utter pap. But it is all relatively low fat and filling. It gives you lots of unlimited foods, such as potatoes, rice, baked beans etc. But that does mean you are allowed to over eat, and so doesn't really deal with the problem of eating until you are stuffed, that many people suffer with. Carol Vorderman's Detox is the best eating plan I think- really healthy. But for you, at your age, I recommend 3 square meals a day, lots of fruit and veg, avoid snacking in between meals, and step up the exercise- try and do fun things like swimming or walking to somewhere you really want to be!!
if you have a sweet tooth like me there are two tricks i've learnt freeze small snack size chocolate bars and have one of those instead of a standard size bar by the time you've finished eating it you will feel as if you've eaten a full one or grapes and other fruit they are full of natural sweetness and will crave any sugar cravings you may have.
