http://www.theanswerb.../Question1039425.html
(there is a term for pneumonia thaoccurs in hospital as at was recorded ona relative's death cert)
lol what have poly bags got to do with pneumonia factor?
Wrong link, Factor30!

Organised pneumonia is where, through the lengthy presence of 'ordinary' pneumonia, fibrous tissue forms within the lungs.

Sorry, factor your link got me through to something about polybags. I could understand it was something that occurred in hospital, but why organised? How can you organise an illness?
Sounds like you are doing a term paper! lol
Why do you want to know?
Sorry- there seems to be a plastic/polybags fixation on some sections of Ab tonight
If you google Organised Pneumonia you will find lots of info.
I was confusing it with something called nosocomial pneumonia http://en.wikipedia.o...al-acquired_pneumonia

Ah! - got it now. Do you know if it has a permanent effect - she is 75, so quite old and has smoked for most of her adult life, although has given up about five years ago. I seem to be surrounded by illness at the moment - must keep out of their way, I don't want to catch anything - selfish I know.
We really need Sqad here but, as I see it (regrettably), organised pneumonia is bound to have permanent consequences because (unlike mucous, which might be cleared away over time) the unwanted fibrous tissue will always be present within the lungs, inhibiting their normal function.

I tried googling it but there was so much that I got in my usual mess. When there are a lot of websites I always manage to get on the wrong one. Thanks everyone, especially factor.
Nile - I wanted to know because I thought she had got the name of her illness wrong. I couldn't think how you could organise pneumonia. Apparently you can (well not me but the medical pofession)

Thanks Chris. You are very clever, well informed and well read and as I have said before, a Prince among men.
I agree with Buenchico.........it is a medical term meaning resolving...getting better....not"active" any more.....settling down.......i tis a term used in Pathology.

Thanks for the addition sqad. At first they thought it might be cancer but I suppose this is marginally better.
starby,,,,,,"organized" does NOT exclude underlying cancer..............unusual, but needs to be excluded.
