I am wanting to visit one but the one in town says they have been here 5 years and were in china before that.
I have looked on the web and don't see any thing in her name?
I was given a business card, but it does not say any thing on that although she uses Doctor before her name.

Doctor doesn't mean anything, you can get a PhD in all sorts of subjects, and you can buy Doctorates on the web if you are unscrupulous enough.

There is no regulatory body for acupuncturists at the moment, although it's being called for http://www.acupuncture.org.uk/ but if they are wise, they are members of the Acupuncture Society which sets standards for the profession http://www.acupunctur...y_code_of_ethics.html

Ask the lady who she is registered with and whether you can have references from other people she has treated. I wouldn't want to put myself in anyone's hands unless I knew they had been properly trained and had a good track record.

Mr mac is a Doctor of Divinity - but only cos I bought the diploma of t'internet as a joke present.
About 30 years ago I went to an accupuncturist to see if I could stop smoking. He told me that he could do nothing unless I really wanted to stop smoking meaning my own will power.I said I did and so he inserted a silver stud in my ear and said to rub it whenever I felt like a smoke. From that day on I have never had another cigarette so I hope this helps
