Creaky knees...
30 Answers
Afternoon all,
For the past few years, my knees have been really achey and "creaky". This only really happens in the morning, but has got worse recently and now my ankles feel the same!
When I get up in the mornings, I almost find it difficult to walk for about 5 or 10 minutes as my knees, and now my ankles, are all stiff.
There's no pain, just stiffness.
Do you think it could have something to do with the colder weather, maybe? I have no idea.
Don't think it's a reason to visit the doctor, so thought I would ask on here.
Thanks :)

I ran out, and took the box to a Farmacia, to see if they had anything similar.
They sold me these elephant dose Ibuprofeno. They worked so well, I stocked up, and now I always keep a supply of Spanish "Ibuprofeno" in the bathroom cabinet.

I get knee and hip pain on my runs too, seems to be the tendons down the back of my right knee. I know this points to a bigger issue and would be better off getting my trainers checked and stuff but I'm giving up the big runs in 3 weeks so, in the meantime, is it ok to take ibuprofen before going on a run to mask any pain or is that not a good idea?
Thanks for all the answers... and to JJ for clearing up the whole "ibuprofena" issue.. :P
Paul, you run marathons though, don't you? No wonder your blimmin knees hurt! lol. Mine don't hurt at all when I run or cycle, just in the mornings. I'm going to give the fish oil tablets a go, see if that makes a difference.

Update on the "creaky knees/ankles"...
Went to see the doctor, who had a quick feel of my ankles, feet and elbows (which have also started to ache a bit.)
He said we'll "monitor the situation" and see how I get on with some anti-inflammatorys.
He's prescribed Vimovo M/R tablets 500mg + 20mg BDS. Got 60 tablets, so we'll see if they help.
