Was at the docs today and as he was going through my notes he remarked that I'd had a cervical polypectomy in 2005. Well that was news to me! Does anyone know anything about this sort of thing? Surely I'd need some sort of anaesthetic? It seems this has been put on my notes in error but I'm just kind of curious.

In 2005...did you have any vaginal procedure either in the doctors surgery or in hospital?

OR ...any operative procedure in 2005?
You can have them taken off by ring forceps - not sure if you would have needed a general anaesthetic, I'd think not.
boxy....I agree that she might not need an anaesthetic, but at least she would have had to take her knickers off and have a vaginal inspection.
If she did neither of those in 2005 then she didn't have a cervical polypectomy............!!!
2005 would be a 3-yearly cervical screening check from 2 times ago..... does that sound about right, greeneyed?
Mwahahaha!....I guess so boxy.
boxy...that bloody stupid mwahahaha again.

I'm not saying I never had my knickers off in 2005 but to my knowledge certainly didn't have a vaginal procedure anywhere!

I was just wondering if a polyp could have been spotted during a routine smear and lopped off? But surely I would have been told??
IF a polyp was removed, then it should have been sent off for biopsy.

I would get to the bottom of this.
L O L Sqad!

Cheers everyone! I'll get on the case on Monday :-)
is it big enough to sit on?????
Agree with sqaddy - you should have been told the results (if it was indeed you who underwent the procedure!)
sounds more like an entry in the wrong set of notes

I knew I was right! Apparently the note referred to someone else with a similar name but a completely different date of birth.
L.O.L problem sorted........but very slack administration.
For slack administration, I'd try pelvic floor exersizes!!! Morning sqod xx
Just seen this ...

Slack?! lol ...

I'm glad it's your cervix and not my tackle they are playing around with (literally) Very bad they have not written to you about taking it off your records.
Thats a disgusting piece of admin - but it once happened to me - I had regular ECGs and one test said i had a serious heart murmer but on further investigation it was someone else's notes been put in my file!
