If you feel your chest getting tight or you get the angina 'twinges' use it otherwise your heart will be trying to pump blood through arteries that are too narrow and the spray opens them up a bit improving the flow of blood.

I had to use one for a while ...no big deal just make sure you have it with you
I agree with rowan.......in addition, if you are about to perform some physical activity which you know will bring on the angina, then don't wait for the pain to come on, use you spray....e.g going up stairs.

thanks rowan and squad, will bear that in mind, still can't get use to the fact that i have to rely on medication now.
Hi daisymaisy, I agree with rowanwitch and Sqad. Use it when you need it. In time the other medications will more than likely take care of your "niggles" and you may end up not needing it at all (but carry it anyway).
Gentle, regular exercise was a great thing for me after diagnosis, gradually building up week by week until I didn't need the spray at all. They now go out of date more or less unused and are discarded.
I found the biggest deal after diagnosis was the reality check that indestructability was for others, not me.
Obviously it affects people differently but do what they tell you and take your medication. It gets easier with time and patience.
All the best! :)
I know its hard to face any change like this its always something that happens to other 'older' people... I use an asthma inhaler and I get quite embarrassed using it in public but its a lot better than going blue round the edges after running for a bus and its much less trouble than the old GTn tablets

Ii also gave up smoking through my own choice, hasnt been easy but i've persevered.
