Doc has found some sort of growth on my daughters fallopian tube, she has endemetriosis (sp) also her ovaries are twisted - doc will be removing both tubes at least but will wait and see what other problems there are before deciding if owt else needs doing. Does anyone know what her recovery time is likely to be if it turns out just to be the lesser op. TIA.

bednobs - they're starting laproscopicaly but depending on what's found may need to open.
Viv - Indeed! She only got married 6 weeks ago and has put off the honeymoon till this is sorted, fingers crossed she'll be fit and well in time to enjoy the summer (??) Hope you're well xx
That is an added misery to her woes :(
Please let me know when the summer is this year and I will try and book the day off LOL
Not bad, thanks - loving the new avatar - I did post a thread for you on it a while back xx
evening masma. im sorry to hear about your daughter, re recovery time, i^d say it depends what surgery is involved, but being young im sure she will recover quickly.
Sad for your daughter, but endometriosis can be a beast - i suffered with it for years before I had my hysterectomy.
Question Author
I think she'd be better off with a hysteretomy but she doesn't want one, says she doesn't want to be on HRT for years to come.
Sorry to have missed your post Viv xx
Depends if there ar no post-operative complications......my answer will assume that there are none.

Just laparoscopic......about 7 days before going back to a sedentary job.
Following laparotomy (opening of the abdomen) at least 3 weeks before starting a sedentary job.

These, as you will appreciate are average times and will vary from person to person.
masma.......endometriosis can affect many pelvic organs, not just the uterus and the uterus can even be spared whilst other organs are affected.

It would seem pointless removing the uterus if it was disease free.
I had a hysterectomy done via keyhole, was home the next day and back at work after a week [desk job] and if my mates are reading this....no I didn't walk the dogs tow weeks after ;0)

She's been told a minimum of two nights in hospital depending on what they do, she goes in on Wednesday so, as I told her, this time next week it'll all be over. Thanks for all you replies xxx
