I was wondering if anyone here had ever had a core biopsy. I am having one this week and im not looking forward to it. I've heard mixed reports about how painful it is. Id be grateful for any advice.

Do you mean a cone biopsy GSD? Never heard of a core one .
Cone biopsy??

If so I had one many years ago under GA, the most uncomfortable part was the dressings/packings being changed. I am sure procedures have improved greatly with modern techniques, but the main thing is the results are worth it.

A core biopsy is a procedure using a thick needle to remove breast tissue for examination.
Sincere apologies for doubting your original post.

Yes had one of those too, not the nicest experience but quickly over, sometimes we have to grit our teeth and just do these things for the better good.

I wish you well xxx
Agree with mamy. Sorry for doubting the word.
I have had a needle in the boob too in 1988?
Wished I had known at the time that I could have had a local injection to take off the discomfort that was involved. My advice --ask for a local GSD. x
(have also had 2 cone biopsys)

thanks for all your advice. I will ask for some local anaesthetic. I had 2 fine needle biopsies last week and they didn't show any cancer cells but the doctor wants to test more to be ablsolutly sure. Fine needle was easy. just a little sting.
