I was diagnosed with this in right foot 2 years ago, and due to extreme pain in walking I had to go to doctor again today and she suspects I also have it in right foot too, along with tendonitis. She says I am wearing totally wrong footwear, and says I need to go and buy correct sportshoes ideally, for support. But Ive just done a bit of Googling cant seem to find anything very nice.
I live in jeans/tops for work so sportshoes I guess would be ok, but what am I meant to wear the rest of the time??
Anybody know any good stockists with a wide range??
It depends where your pain is, Smow. If it's in the arch of your foot, you may be looking at a pair of support Running Shoes. Crocs offer no arch support at all.
Just searched for a thread tyo give you some advice, and it was yours that came up, when you had Tendonitis...
Worst pain is in both heels, although doctor says I need to support the arch. tendonitis is in back of both feet, exactly where the top of the shoe meets foot, if you know what I mean. Poor tootsies are v unhappy at the mo
I have/had plantar fascitis in my heels. I was sent to physio who gave me some exercises to do and also these gel things that go in your shoe. The gel thingies were the best thing ever and the exercises seem to have sorted the problem out. I don't use the gel support at all now, and very rarely do the exercises. I would ask your GP to refer you to a physio.
I also went to Boots yesterday and bought the gel heel pads and the little socks which are especially for plantar fasciitis, they feel v tight but are definitely supporting the feet.
My sympathies.....I had this about a year and a half ago....gone now thank god.
Crocs are wonderfull, I also had stretching excercises from the phisio.
I got mega relief from memory foam heel cushions, got mine from our local market, about £2 per pair and changed them every month as they flattened out.
It does go eventually, but its hell while you've got it. hope you have some relief soon. X
I was actually diagnosed 2 years ago, but due to being on my feet all day working and having to wear flat shoes, it has never really improved. But the past months its got much worse, so have finally stopped putting up with the pain and decided to deal with it.
Do as China suggested. Depending on the problem in your feet, they could give you specially built inner soles for wearing inside your shoes. Those could be very helpful.
