Not in a good frame of mind at the mo - after an emergency A&E visit, I have been found to have a 20cm ovarian cyst - 50:50 as to whether this is benign or malignant.minsee my surgeon today to discuss future, plans and surgery.

In the job I do, i do realise the implications and prognosis of,ovarian cancer. And even if, God please, this is benign, I do have rather a major op ahead of me.

Has anyone got any positive experience(s) of this sort of thing? No negative stories please, I can't cope with those just at the minute.

Hi Salla, like everyone else I send you strength and positivity - sounds like your surgeon has it all organised and am sure you will come through it all fine.

I too have known friends with ovarian cysts - all were benign.

Lots of love

Thank you mamy x
All positive stories and thoughts welcome x
Good luck salla, although I know you'll be just fine.
Hello, don't think our paths have crossed before but wanted you to know that I am here if you want a rant and I will keep everything crossed for you, x
Hi
I had exactly the same thing as you...big ovarian cyst. Also had a really bad family history of ovarian cancer.
Had exactly the same op as you as well. Cyst was benign and all is well after more than ten years now.
Op is pretty major and takes a lot of recovering from, though, so be warned.

Thank you ladyalex, that is reassuring x
salla, dont let anyone touch you .especially your wound, unless you know for sure they have washed their hands, any visitors with an open wound even a cut finger, id say not to visit, get your visitors to clean your locker with bacterial wipes,, good luck
Yes I too had this operation.Things I believe have changed since I had mine done, keyhole surgery was not about when had my operation.I had two golf ball sized cysts removed from both my ovaries, they were very good and I had some ovary left in to go on and have my son 20 years on.Mine were both benign.I had a Laparoscopy beforehand to take biopsies to check that they were not cancerous. They are most likely just cysts and nothing un toward. If you have the operation like I had you will be out of action for at least 3 months depending on your line of work. Please do not worry yourself as most cases are benign.I have a full and active life and as I say operations have changed over the years.
