Eleven days ago I fell and badly bruised both legs. As far as I know I didn't injure my foot but have a really painful swelling in my right foot. Apart from resting my foot and exercising too what can I do to ease the swelling. It's not bad enough to take painkillers, but I can't get shoes on and it hurts doing things like climbing the stairs.

Have you been less mobile since the fall ? Silly question I know - but it could be fluid build up.

Do as you are doing, keep elevated as much as possible and circling exercises too in between times, if no improvement in a few days then see GP for advice.

Thanks mamya, yes I have been less mobile. Not been out the house without my husband. Feel wobbly and slight loss of confidence. I shall make an appointment with my GP when I can. If I can't get an appointment I've got a friend/neighbour who is a nurse. She may be able to advise me.
Good plan Cupid and I know how a fall can sap your confidence too - you will get it back, promise. Try for sleep. ♥

Thank you.x
Can't remember if you saw a doctor when you fell down.

Pop into your GP today, as he may well suggest an X-Ray.

Doesn't sound a big deal.

I'm not so sure, Sqad. I detect distinct symptoms of brain damage.
Unless she's always been like this,lol..

I've found cold therapy (don't put anything iced directly on skin, wrap a towel round anything ice cold), using tubi grips (very cheap in pound and discount stores), which provide gentle pressure, and keeping it elevated help.
