hi, i have it and i suffer fromj bad periods, very irregular, i have dark hair on my face, just upper lip and a few under my chin, that i wax, i also get very hot and sweaty sometimes when i am out and about, and i have difficulty losing weight and i have been told i am very likely to need fertility drugs when me and my partner come to trying for a baby, as my ovaries are quite severe and my productive system is not very good!

i have changed my diet recently, i eat lots of fresh food and drink loads of water everyday and am starting to lose weight, i dont sweat nearly as much. Other than that it doesnt get in the way of my life, although not having a period for 7 months scared my poor bf!!

Hiya

I also have PCOS, diagnosed (finally!) about 4 years ago after years of being told it was my cycle settling down?!

My biggest problem was regulating my cycle, it was usually one week off and three weeks on or to the other extreme I had a period once every two months.  Once it was nearly three months which lead to a worried boyfriend even though I was on the pill and we were using condoms as well!

My doctor prescribed me Duphaston to help regulate my periods and that combined with the pill has helped to regulate my moodswings as well!

There are a few good websites out there about PCOS, Verity has one.  If not just put it into Google or whatever search engine you use.

My symptoms are irregular periods, weight gain, moodiness (although bloke would probably say that is normal for me!) and also facial hair.  The hair isnt tooo noticible and is only a few dark ones around my chin.

The annoying thing about PCOS is that it is an unknown thing and there isnt any cure for it.  No matter how many leaflets/websites you read, they all give you different advice.  I think that the people who actually have it are the only ones who know how to cope with it!

Does this help or have I rambled on in my own unique style again?!

Hi KirleeO

I was diagnosed a year ago, simply going on my symptom which is that 7-15 days after my period I then begin to bleed for another 5-7 days.
