Little Patches Of Red, Itchy Skin

Occasionally, I have 'eruptions' of small patches of red, itchy skin about the size of a five pence piece.
At the moment I have two, one on my upper arm and one on my waistline. I have always assumed it was excema. I usually put sudocreme on and that soothes the itch slightly. Is there some other topical cream I could use, which will help the skin to heal?

1% hydrocortisone cream available over-the-counter from about £2.50 for 15 gram.

The pharmacies at Asda, Tesco will be a lot cheaper. Boots try to sell a branded one at at least twice the price (personal experience!).

Pretty sure that Betnovate (a stronger corticosteroid preparation) is not available without prescription in the UK.

Hydrocortisone will probably be fine. Is it a reaction from a belt buckle, or nickel backing from buttons?

Pixie, I think it may be to do with using biological washing powder.

Have you tried Nizoral
I have out brakes of patchy redness around forehead, nose, and scalp ...
DR. Recommend Nizoral cream which really helps...also try the Nizoral Shampoo
Which you can buy over the counter but the cream you'll need the Drs advice..
