It is a semi private / public purse funded system.
I have the least excess and pay for a number of supplement extras and cost per month is £215 and you pay the first £200 and then 10% of costs post this up to approx £475.
Accident insurance and medical bills for such paid via your employer , if you work more than 8 hours a week.
Even the unemployed pay medical insurance and everyone who stays in CH for than 90 days must pay.
Well it works well.
I pay less tax than in UK (1/3rd of what I used to pay), pay less for medical insurance (In uk it's tax and NI) and get excellent treatment.
Maybe the same model would work in the UK ?
