NI a healthy person how long does it typically take for blisters to heal?

I've acquired two on my feet and am ignoring in the hope they will go away but there is a limit to my patience!

As long as the cause of the blisters have been removed then I would say about 3 days before they are no longer sore, I always draw a piece of wool on a needle through the blister to drain them or cut the blister open but leave the skin in place to offer a bit of protection. the sooner they dry up the sooner they heal.
This is supposed to help if you've blisters. I don't know if it's any good

Oh! and if the skin has come off the blister, urine helps toughen the underlying skin up again.

OK, so perhaps I didn't phrase things too well.

Blisters are not being aggravated and haven't burst or been punctured, had them for three-four days and they are not shrinking.

I'm reluctant to pierce them and had hoped they would shrivel away of their own accord.

Is it a case of waiting?
if they are not rubbing on anything , are not painful, id be tempted just to put a plaster on them,

Yes.

What will a plaster do?

Thanks Sqad, I suspected as much....patience isn't my strongest suit :-(
keep it clean,
Question Author
Maybe I'm being daft but why do I need to keep an unbroken blister clean?
More likely to shrivel up in a dry environment really.
Not a fan of plasters.
If I ever get a blister I always bust it.
tony put that pickaxe down.
because the unbroken blister may burst ?

LOL, not quite that extreme, lj. A pin usually.
I can recommend Compeed plasters. I have only ever had one blister and have only used just the one compeed plaster, but it was brilliant. Make sure you get the right size for the blister in question.

By that reasoning Anne should I also put a plaster on my finger in case I cut myself?

I think I'll just be patient and wait for them to do their shrivelling thing.....just wish they'd hurry up :-(
