My little brother and I are alone at home for a few days. And my little brothers has a rash from a shampoo he obviously is alleric to. In the country we live in it's late evening and he can't sleep because of his rash. He is crying and says it's itchy and painful. How can I help him? It's half past eleven at night, I can't go buy something anymore.
(I hope I chose the category right, I don't really know this site yet)
Start by giving him a warm water shower using no soap or gel. This might rinse it away and start to relieve the rash. What part of the body is the rash?
Try rinsing his hair in some luke warm water, and see if there is any antihistamine in your medicine cupboard, be mindful to read the instructions to see if it's age appropriate though.
He's also probably missing his parent/parents and feels a little vulnerable. As well as all the excellent advice, a cuddle might not go amiss. Hope he feels better soon x
You have answered just fine, do as advised, make sure all shampoo is gone and keep skin cooled and yes a hug would be good - soon be morning then get him looked at.
I always hug him when he feels bad and our parents are not there and I will try those things out. Thank you all. I know my name is wierd but I had no better idea in this short time.
Do as the others have suggested and rinse his head in cool water, try to keep him cool. Has he suffered from an allergy before and had medication for it? I hope he calms down soon.
He has no other symptomes only the rash and he doesn't have any medication for allergeys. He has a mild allergy against one flower, but I don't know which one, maybe something like that was in there. And if your advice doesn't help I am going to tell my neighbour.
