How have you managed to get to your computer, nailit?

hang on the familys arrived
It is very possible you have broken it. If you can't get a friend to give you a lift it would be a good idea to contact the hospital and see if they will send an ambulance for you.

with difficulty tilly
I really can't say if you've broken it or not, nailit, but I'm sure it's painful.

You're right to get along to A&E. If nobody can take you, would you be able to call a taxi?
We cant say .. but from what you say it stands a good chance .. can you stand on it ?
if your going to a&e don't worry we will keep you up to date over what happened the next 18 hours. PS Don't eat the food
The " shin" bone is quite a robust structure and would take some breaking.
It sounds as though you have a bruise over the bone...subperiosteal haematoma.

Chances are it is bruised.

Fingers crossed for you nailit !
Sqad, a professional footballer named Olivier Giroud got his shin broken the other day by simply having a football kicked at it.
Daffy...unusual ...very unusual...is there any evidence that the football produced the fracture and not a tackle?
had something very similar back in the summer whilst canoeing in the Dordogne - hit a tree stump in the rapids and got rolled out of the boat, then dragged along and bashed on every rock for the next 100 yards. my leg looked like it had got an egg attached to it. but it soon settled down.

Yet the Independent says,

"Giroud had surgery for a broken tibia and he will be out for three to four months on the competitive side," Wenger revealed last night.

Who knows?
I've seen a video of Giroud's injury and it was most definitely a ball kicked at his shin. I watched it a few times because I couldn't believe that such a minor contact could produce a broken tibia.
Daffy...well, if that is what you saw and that was the result, then you are entitled to your opinion.
now no disrespect to nailit, but if you had an accident at home, would you post on CB for advice . and abers are actually saying yes/no/ maybe . unfortunately my laptop does not have x-ray facilities .
anneasquith, some of us don't like turning up at A&E at the slightest worry, so it is usual and perfectly normal to ask for advice from others before having to go and sit in a hospital waiting room for several hours, possibly unneccesarily, whether that be people present or people on the internet is irrelevant.
well it isn't really daffy, someone present can see the injury and assist the person. what can anyone do via CB ?
They can give an opinion and their advice, if the op doesn't take that advice that is entirely their prerogative. Obviously we can't diagnose but that isn't what nailit asked us to do, he asked for an opinion.
