I'm glad you've got there. The basic definitions are worth reading but there's an option to get further information which shows (for example) the earliest known occurrences of the word that you've looked for. A personal subscription to the OED costs well over a hundred pounds per year but it's all there for free if you're a library member.

Cabernet Sauvignon is a bit like Chardonnay. There are loads of 'mediocre' (although still acceptable) wines from those grapes but just a few really good ones.
