\\\\is this rare or anything to be worried about\\\
Might be and there again it might not be.
I assume that you have had your urine sent to the laboratory for growth and identification of bacteria and also if present, their sensitivity to antibiotics.
if the above hasn't been done, then it needs to be.
if, as i suspect it has been done and your are still getting recurring attacks then you may well need a camera into your bladder (cystoscopy)...no big deal and performed as a day case probably under local anesthesia.
Cystitis is 7 times now so back on the pills, if it happens again it's long term antibiotics, but an ultrasound test showed a cyst in the kidney which is causing some pain, I think the 2 things are not connected so my logic would suggest that if the pain remains even with long term antibiotics then a sclerotherapy procedure will be next, would I be guessing right
Not rare at all, Tfg......many years ago cystitis blighted my life...ruined holidays.....a week at a time off work.....passing *** urine every few minutes....endless tests and examinations....til I tried homeopathy because I couldn't face any more antibiotics....
I know homeopathy doesn't work....it's a placebo or whatever people want to call it.....but for thirty years I was free of cystitis til the last six weeks...
I have had a few bad bouts....really bad...but I have discovered that it's a combination of red wine and too much sugar.
A simple thing I know....and she mustn't let an infection take hold....but diet is worth looking at too....
Good luck to your partner....it's a horrible thing to suffer from......x
3rd week of every flaming cycle, finally given one suppository from a friend and that ended it, can't remember the name of it though. Ask a pharmacist.
She has my sympathy, I remember sitting in a bath of cold water in winter to ease the pain
I had a few bad bouts too at one point in time. Back to the doctors - there are lots of antibiotics. ~Cranberry juice is said to be very good. It's agonising, be sympathetic.
