Odd Symptoms

Last night I experienced some very odd (for me) symptom approaching bedtime, which worsened once in bed.
Restlessness to the extend of agitation and pacing
Shortness of breath with shivers and sweats
A feeling that something was going to happen to me
Eventually it did and I was violently sick with no warning and no feeling of sick beforehand. I eventually settled and had a very interrupted night and woke about 4 times, before eventually getting up at 3.15am (went to bed at about 10pm)
No specific background apart from prolonged use of amitriptyline (for pain only), tramadol and cocodamol for a shoulder problem which has recently been operated on (6 weeks ago) and is still giving some significant post op pain.
WHat conclusions would you draw?

Care has to be taken when taking a tricyclic antidepressant like Amitriptyline and Tramadol together, as they both can raise serotonin levels causing symptoms like those which you have described.
I would see or ring your GP for advice about changing your medication.
