Just after receiving a voice mail from a "Fiona" - don't know what she is -= a nurse, receptionist or whatever - I do know she is not a doctor.

All surgeries (mine are closed on a Wednesday) - has left a message saying could you contact surgery to get your medication reviewed.

Now I am worried that they are going to take me off the anxiety tablets - I will be like a string bean again. My sis thinks it is a nurse who thinks they can take you off the tablets so she is suggesting if it happens for me to go back to the doctors who I told you before wants everybody off these anxiety tablets. If I am knocked back - who next can you go to. btw I am on other tablets - ie statatins but do think it is the anxiety tablets. Rang the number immediately back but that;s their day off - no answer.

I thought you said that they weren't going to repeat the prescription anyway?
Question Author
I didn't say I wasn't going to repeat the prescription - I said what was I going to do if they did.
All medications need reviewing from time to time - go in and discuss it with them and explain your worries.

this would be the first time Mamy reviewing needs for me
"Now I am worried that they are going to take me off the anxiety tablets "

I hope you can see the funny side of that statement ;-)

'Reviewed' may be they are going to give you more tablets? or a higher dose? All you can do is ring the surgery tomorrow, forget about it until tomorrow.
make an appointment to see your gp, it's not uncommon to have your medication reviewed, explain to gp about your anxiety issues, write a list of your concerns and take it with you, nurses do not stop medication,
It may be the first time, but no need to fear the worst.

You know I can laugh at sarcastically - phone for probably a quick appointment for the review - yet you wait 4-5 weeks for the bloody doctor.
Question Author
anne - i just got an appointment about another issue last Friday - 4-5 weeks I waited on it.
You did say that the prescription wasn't going to be repeated.

retrochich chickypea - deffo no higher dose - they are trying to get everybody off the anxiety pills.
I have seen you mention that before - it is a dreadfully long time to wait.

Something I have never experienced.
phone the surgery tomorrow and say you are responding to the voicemail you received and wish to make an appointment.
What are the 'anxiety' pills? Anti Depressants?

They are often reviewed and not always stopped, possibly other routes may be suggested to help.

I am aware of that post Ummmmm - but I was like the ostrich - I hid my head in the sand. My lovely doctor that was good is now retired.
Question Author
sorry to bother yous all - just wanted to see if i could get reassurance - will have a long wait till tomorrow -
It hasn't been a bother at all, that is what AB is to reassure and discuss. I am sure all will be fine.
J J....this happened at my surgery a few years ago with Temazepam....they wanted to get everybody off them...that's when I was put on Diazepam. I'm going to see if I can find out if anything's been said about Diazepam now,....give me a while +I'll get back to you. Then only way they'll get my Diazepam off me is out of my cold dead hand......;)
