Why Do Some People Walk So Slow?
25 Answers
I am talking about fit healthy people, when they are out and about they shuffle along really slow. I notice it more when I'm in town shopping. I always walk briskly whenever I'm out walking, wherever I'm going but I'm forever being held up by slow coaches and a lot of them are young people. Could this be one of the reasons more people are overweight, not moving enough and quickly enough?

But sometimes 'big city folk' are just plain old rude about barging along. BTW people are overweight because of what they eat vs their output of energy, not because of how they walk.
I find the worst offenders in the 'getting in everyone's way' stakes are tourists who seem able to stand in five places at once and always, always have a roller suitcase to dance with.

Whilst it can be annoying when they are in the way, there are no rules as to what the correct walking speed should be. They may well want to know why some people walk so briskly instead of enjoying their stroll. Could one of the reasons be some people have eaten something that doesn't agree with them, and rushing to get to the toilet ?
this should solve the problem ...

That looks like a good idea, ael, but who decides who goes in which lane. My OH gets irritated by slow walkers but he doesn't realise he's just as bad himself. I've had to drag him out of the way of fast walkers as he doesn't notice there are queues behind him.
I don't mind people who are slow walkers, but they should leave room for people who need to get past quickly, and not block the whole aisle or pavement.
