Immigration - Are We Stupid?

My wife is watching Oxford Street Revealed on BBC 2 at the moment, a reality TV show about Oxford Street in London.

In the program the police found an Afghan man in the area who was illegally in the UK.

He was taken to court and bailed TO APPEAR IN COURT THE NEXT DAY.

Of course he failed to turn up.

ARE WE STUPID?

Why not just hold him in jail till the next day. Of course he is not going to turn up.

No wonder we have a massive problem with illegal immigrants and fake asylum seekers when we are so lax and stupid with the way we treat them.

Unless we start to come down hard on some of these people we are always going to have a problem.

We are such a soft and trusting country, no wonder all the people in Calais will stay there for weeks or months to get here, it must be like some giant holiday camp once they get here.

We have a hotel here in Birmingham, The Paragon, where over 200 Asylum seekers (all men) are being put up.

We have millions out of work, we have a huge debt problem, but we still manage to house (and probably feed) over 200 people in a hotel.

As I said, it must be like coming to a huge holiday camp when immigrants and asylum seekers get here.

No wonder as a country we are in a mess.

You will have to be cautious about posting those views VHG, those of us who have expressed similar sentiments find we are castigated by the shroud waving virtue signallers. A million more than the figures published have gained entry. Those of us who warned of just such a scenario whilst being ridiculed in the echo chamber were right after all.

Don't include the ordinary men & women of this country Naomi, it is those we put in power to lead us that are stupid.

Some of the more down to earth amongst us can see what is going off and what needs to be done to correct the situation, but it is them who are cried down as fascists etc.

I notice that the Mail front page headline reveals an alleged cover up on the true UK immigration figures as "it is unhelpful to Cameron's Brussels negotiations" Negotiations??? I can see a capitulation in the offing.
