It doesn't sound like anything serious, fruitsalad. As you've had a scan already, I don't think you need to worry. See your gp if you are worried.

This happened to me and I had an ultrasound scan and internal scan. Nothing sinister was found and it was concluded there were some tiny fibroids that were causing the occasional bleeding, no treatment was needed and it stopped. That was 11 years ago and I'm still alive and kicking so don't worry too much.x
Just seen this, sorry for delay. I'm 68 next month and began menopause before I hit 50. Aged about 61/2 I suddenly had a bit of bleeding - an ultrasound revealed an old fibroid. It was all hormonal. I am still having periodical hot flushes and sweats and I wouldn't worry if I sometimes had a bleed; I'd just get it checked. One day, please God, this interminable menopause will end. At least my bone scan proved normal so I still have some protective hormonal activity. Look on the bright side. :)
