Smear
10 Answers
Hi!
I'm in a bit of a state just now. I'm overdue with my smear test and now completely panicking and thinking the worst.
I have had 2 children over the last 4 years and time has really just run away with me.
I know it's smear test awareness week so this is why it's come to the forefront of my mind.
I have booked a test for Tuesday and suddenly the test isn't scary at all. I'm terrified of the wait for the results :(
I keep googling and reading all these awful stories and wanting to cry.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom? X

I don't know if this helps, but taking 1,000 smears, only one will diagnose cancer. O.K?

^^^ yes it is. Just go for the smear and stop worrying, once you've done it you have done everything you can do so relax. I'm rather hoping I've now got past the age for smears, but 10 years ago I thought that - and then the age-limit was pushed back! Having had some unexpected bleeding about 6 yrs. ago, I was sent for investigations and ultra-sound etc., but it all turned out to be nothing serious and righted itself. :)
