Imodium
The Imodeum instants are really effective. But yes, you need to see a doctor
Question Author
is that something i can buy at the chemist? and how would i know its compatible with my other meds.
I do know that it's really worth mentioning this to your doctor, Emmie..... x
I'm not sure emmie can take that for any length of time though Danny. Have you seen your doctor emmie?
Any other accompanying symptoms or features?

If this is a long-term matter it would be wise to see your GP.
Imodium instants appear to work well and quite quickly but I would also suggest that you have a chat with your doctor.
Immodium is seriously overpriced. The generic name for the medicine is loperamide which is much cheaper and available over the counter.
Question Author
getting to the GP is problematic as to the fact i can't walk too far, and i haven't mentioned it to them lately as i am rather shall we say embarrassed about it all.
Try the Imodium in the short term whilst you get to see the doctor, needs looking in to emmie x
Emmie, follow Jackdaw's suggestion, but if you are still having problems after a few days the a visit to the doctor's would seem prudent.
Question Author
you are right of course and i'm sure that there is nothing to be embarrassed about with the doctors but i am uncomfortable about this as it is.
Embarrassment can have serious, even fatal consequences.
Get yourself an appointment and use the Immodium to get you there and back without incident.
Question Author
thanks for all the advice, will ring doctor tomorrow see if i can't persuade one to come out to me, if not then i will taxi it, better to be safe than sorry i guess.
You say that you are on other medications. Why don't you check the side effects of these before anything else . If by any chance one of them could be causing you to have loose bowels then either go to the doctors or get him to pay you a home visit.
Emmie......not only will your doctor have seen many patients like this he/she will have suffered the same problem.....
I'm in the middle of tests resulting from the same symptom.....I find humour removes any sense of embarrassment..... my doctor enjoys banter with a cheery patient..... :-)
Hopefully you'll get this sorted emmie, and get your freedom/ confidence back.
Question Author
it seems as i get older more problems arise, the doctor has visited me already because i can't walk to the surgery. That was because my feet needed a recent scan have developed lumps which turn out to be arthritis,
so that why walking is so painful.
In the meantime. make sure you keep hydrated but avoid drinks that may make things worse e.g. caffeinated, alcoholic, sugary and possibly milk/dairy products.
