Back in early February I had a hard knock on the top of my right arm, just an inch or so below the top of my shoulder. It hurt for a couple of weeks then eased off. For the last 3 days the pain, in exactly the same place, has returned & last night, in the night it woke me up. I can't take ibuprofen orally but have been using the gel which hasn't, as yet helped. There's no swelling or inflammation but I'm at the point now I can't raise my arm straight up. I guess I'll have to see my GP if it doesn't ease. Just wonder what the problem could be & whether I should seek advice sooner rather than later
It sounds very much as you have developed a supraspinatus tendonitis (frozen shoulder). Keep on with the Ibuprofen Gel and rest the arm (if possible) for a week.
Watching the match.....but might come back to you at full time.
Appreciate your reply Sqad. I was wondering if it might be tendonitis of some form. I couldn't lift a saucepan earlier with my right hand as it sent the pain right up my arm. I have very little use of my left hand (as you might remember from some time ago) so that isn't helping. As for my right hand problem/fingers locked, surgeon is probably going to amputate ring finger which has been locked for a long time but causes me a lot of pain. See him again on 2nd May!
