I really wish Boris and his health minister would stop dishing out the bull., telling us all that the UK is really well prepared for this virus. The battle plan, having more people manning the 111 number, What for? for them to tell you to self isolate, that's if you get through at all, you may have to listen to a recorded message of the lords prayer while waiting for them to tell you that.
He also states that the NHS as stockpiles of medicines, ( to treat what)?
Well prepared, or even partly prepared would be to have done what China did, masses of beds on stand by, and a lot more than 50/ 500 ventilators in stock. Maybe time to stop giving £3 a month to all the other crapp, and divert ones £3 a month to ventilators, as it don't look like the government worry to much about not having them. Rant over:0)

Where does the claim of up to twenty-four days originate?
The link...
What I meant was, where does the article get that figure from?
Question Author
Preparation is the key to any operation, we've had many weeks of notice to prepare, a lot more than China had and that's why it got out of hand.
I'm not sure where anyone is getting their figures from! It was certainly made up at first, that 14 days would be enough, without anyone actually knowing it would be.
My friend apparently rang 111 on Sunday, as her daughter had come back from Italy, with a temperature and a cough. They told her there was no problem, unless she had definitely been in contact with somebody officially diagnosed. How do they know that though? It all just seems very blase to me.
"its just the rest of the bull S. " - can you give us some examples with the evidence.
You're not sure if your pal actually 'phoned 111 then?
I called 111 in October and I had an appointment within 2 hours and treatment started. Very impressive.
Yes, she did phone them.
It just doesn't make sense to me. We have quarantined animals against rabies since 1897 and kept it out of the UK.
But when it comes to something that might kill vulnerable people, we allow it in straightway.

May be a good idea to close the house of Lords, we don't really need them turning up for £300 per day just to have a snooze, plus if the virus hits them lot they will need all the ventilators.
can you answer my point at 12:16
Who was it to, ttt?
Question Author
Listening to a doctor in his surgery last night, (and Boris saying the UK is well prepared) he's very worried that he's not even got any protective gear for himself, and he's on the front line.
"But when it comes to something that might kill vulnerable people, we allow it in straightway."

What do you suggest? Check every arrival in the UK? Quarantine them all for twenty-four days?
At least... although too late now.
Dial 111, while washing your hands and listen to a recorded message of Boris singing happy Birthday.
teacake; Do you have any positive suggestions to make in the face of this virus or are you just looking for someone to attack?
pixie rabies is not a good example....we know about rabies, the quarantine used to be six months and it was enforced on every single rabies vulnerable animal coming into the country.
pixie374//At least... although too late now.//

Stop being silly.
I know, woof... but I don't understand your point. We had no idea what the incubation of coronavirus was, when we lurched at '14 days'. And clearly it wasn't right, as it is in Britain, which, especially as an island, could have been avoided.
Why is that, spice? My point is, we could have stopped it coming here, but haven't. Why is that silly?
