Good Wednesday Morning, Birdies.  I was rudely awoken by cramp in my right calf this morning.  Anyone who suffers with this will know how painful it is.

I finally got my prescription from the GP so will commence my Prednisolone 40mg today.  I started the Doxycycline last night.

I can't believe it's midweek already - where do these weeks go?

Have a lovely day, everyone 😘

Morning LadyCG - have you got a nice cold floor to stand on close by ? That will fix the cramp very quickly but of course it wakes you up completely - not easy getting back to sleep ðŸ˜ģ

our lovely sunny days disappeared into a thunderstorm Tuesday evening and now it's windy but no rain.

This year is flying past, it'll soon be the crazy time of the year - help ðŸ˜Đ

Morning Steph.

I find, ultimately, that weight-bearing is the only thing to get it to go completely.  Other than that, extending the leg completely and turning your toes up towards you as far as they can go can give immediate relief.  It's nearly always my right leg that is affected but after returning from Turkey in August I was so dehydrated from the Turkey Tummy that I had cramps for the very first time in both my arms as well as my legs.  I'm not afraid to admit that I was crying with the pain.

Oh you'll soon be basking in heat, Steph.  I love the traditional season of Christmas here (if only we could actually have a white Christmas) but sometimes I wonder if I would rather be on a beach somewhere soaking up the sun for the festive season.

What time is it over there?

It's 2.50 pm - our clocks went forward last Sunday ðŸ˜Đ and I'm still getting acclimatised - I don't mind it too much though when there's a really hot spell the long evenings can be very trying ðŸĨĩ

The 'turned up toes' worked quite well but nothing beat the bathroom floor for me - luckily I seem to the grown out of that one, now other things wake me up at night ðŸĪŠ

That sounds horribly painful when it's all over you and nothing you can do to alleviate it.

Im not a hot weather basker at all - never really have been - with fair skin I burn easily even as a child, so I head for the fans and aircon once we get into the mid thirties and hibernate ðŸ˜Ī

Question Author

Are you in Western Australia then?

Our clocks go back at the end of this month and then it will be dark as I get home from work :-(

I'm not looking forward to a cold and wet winter, although we have the threat of a mini heatwave here in the foreseeable future.

Our time zones are all over the place now as some states change and others don't  - go figure ðŸ˜ģ

I'm in the middle - South Oz and probably the most consistent state weather wise - we don't get the cyclones or floods, it can get hot 43 is about the worst for our summers but so long as it's not a long spell I can survive - if I walk out the door and can't breathe, I turn around and shut the door...oh it's lots of fun !!

Question Author

I hope to make it to Oz one day.  I would also love to go to NZ, Tasmania and the Whitsundays.  Perhaps when I retire I'll go around the world, if stress doesn't get me first ;)

43° is still pretty hot.  We hit 40° here in 2022 and I nearly melted.  A friend made the silly mistake of going to Dubai in August and she said she'd never known heat like it.  Even the sea water was hot.

I'd like to hibernate too, but for the long, dark, miserable winter.  I don't mind crisp, cold sunny days though.  It can be a pleasure to go walking in the countryside then.

I hope you can make it down under some time, it's quite a special place and I haven't seen half as much as I'd like to - Tasmania is still on my list and the outback is amazing - of course it has to be winter going there.

Too late for me to travel very far now,  so I guess it's documentaries etc for me - an armchair traveller 🙂

Lovely to have a chat, have a good day xx

Question Author

Thanks for popping by, Steph, lovely to chat.  Have a great day xx ðŸ˜˜

Good morning everyone x

Good morning all!

Hope the sun shines for you

I know that cramp feeling, all too well.

Take care

My in-laws are in Portugal at the mo for a month (lucky devils!) and they say it is 40 degrees there at the mo.

Question Author

Morning Smow.  I only went to the Algarve once and it rained for four days.  I'm afraid I wouldn't like the 40° heat though.  How are things with  you

Morning, Chip.  Not nice, is it?  It's something I've always had to a certain extent but more so since I've reached a certain age.  How are you today?

Morning LadyG/Chip. I'm not too bad - Had terrible thunderstorm 2 days ago - the day that it was on the news that the poor kid got hit by lightning whilst playing football. His heart actually stopped.(he seems to be recovering tho) Apparently it's something mad like 10 million to 1 to actually be hit by lightning??

Yes indeed LCG, I don't count the milestones any more, I just keep going

Question Author

I think I'm getting to that stage, Chip.  Haha!

Smow, they say you're more likely to be struck by lightning than win the lottery.  I'd certainly rather win the lottery!

Lol, I agree LadyCG, tho I have to confess I can't even tell you when I last did the lottery - years probably!

Good Morning
One And All
And Isn't It
A Beautiful Morning ?

Am I Right ?
I'm Not Wrong !

Morning all, it's my Happy Wednesday, Lcg , you mentioned the C word, don't get me started , I love it from my November birthday onwards, I think that's because it was always special as I was growing up, starting on November 5th  when there was always a huge bonfire for us kids, my Dad would bring me a large box of Standard fireworks ( brand name) but he lit them ,I was never allowed to,at the same time he brought in from work, the fireworks and either the Broons or Oor Wullie book, then I'd get something special like a watch for my birthday the following week

very happy memories âĪïļ

Morning Johnny/Bobbi..... can't remember last time I saw a firework display, I used to love them.

That's what should only be allowed now Smo and it's a different age we live in now so I think apart from hand held sparklers for the little ones, fireworks should only be let off at an organised display that's well away from domestic animals
