trichomonas Vaginal Infection

I went to the doctors, about a vaginal infection and they took a swap (havent' had the results yet), but they gave me a course of antibiotics. On the leaflet it mentions the vaginal infection trichomonas.

So I looked it up on the net. It has all the symptoms I have. But what has deeply upset me is it says its a STI. I am happily married and been with my hubby 10 years. He is the only guy I have ever been with.

It also says on the net, that trichomonas would come up in a smear, which I had about a year and a half ago, and it was clear. So I didn't catch it at the start of our relationship.

Does this mean my hubby has cheated on me? I'm devastated, I thought we were in a monogomus relationship, and he has never shown any signs of cheating (he is at home every night, and out very little) but at the same time, all it takes is once, isn't that right?

We both have strong views on being unfaithful, so I am shocked and devastated.

Does anyone know anything about trichomonas? Can you get it, by being run down? or is it definately a STI? or have other vaginal infections similar symptoms? and I'm jumping the gun?
