I like crosswords, reading, sightseeing, cooking, walking through country parks. I might sound boring to some.

What sort of hobbies do you have? I am looking forward to hearing about the more weird and wonderful hobbies and, you never know, I might find a new one to try.

That'll only happen if you keek under the table when you drop your fish knife, CF.

Squeezing the blackheads on Gemma Atkinson's bare bottom.

Bird watching, guitar, ukulele, allotment gardening and singing in a male voice choir. I also have a keen interest in natural history.

Love reading, crosswords, scrabble and quizes.  Also attend a writing group and am a member of a singing group.  Used to do yoga but hip replacements have ruled that out now.

Do you think she would be up for that, Ken? 😄

I would quite like to have an allotment, Melv. What do you grow?

I can mention the hobbies that I and my wife used to have, but, now that we are in our eighties, they have had to be somewhat curtailed. We used to go camping, in the Lakes and Scotland, we have had walking holidays in those places, plus Germany and Holland. Now, however, our hobbies are crosswords and housework. Boring, I suppose, but we are now rather limited as to what our aching joints will allow us to do!

Yoga can put a lot of stress on the body I suppose, Maggie, so not good when you've had that type of surgery. It's good to keep the mind agile though and that's what I find I do with crosswords and quizzes.

Camping sounds like fun, bookbinder. We have often discussed hiring a campervan and driving around Europe for the summer holidays.

Curly. I grow the usual stuff; spuds, beans, onions, leeks,  squashes, soft fruit etc. Unless you've got the time I wouldn't contemplate getting an allotment. BTW, I grew a prize winning trombochino this year.

Sitting by the sea drinking tea. There are several beaches near us. Computer gameplay. Painting, often landscape. Reading, I have over thirteen large bookcases full up. Mostly none fictional.

She's always up for it, Curlyfries. Can't keep her away from my front door. Not that i want to, of course, but she has an annoying habit of calling when the racing or football is on.

She's a great lass but absolutely no sense of occasion.

Question Author

I just had to google to see what a trombochino is, Melv. Well done you for growing all that stuff.

I have quite a book collection myself, david small. Mine too are mostly non-fiction.  I would love to do painting but I am not very artistic. My youngest is a budding young artist and he's very creative.

Rally driving, skydiving, tough mudder and macrame.

^ Don't forget sitting looking at the internet all day in your underpants and coming up with 'one liners'  You are quite funny though.

Apart from using full use of the English language watching football.

I don't read novels as much as I used to, I used to write a lot as well nothing published but written a Sci-Fi novel, a few comedy drafts for a tv show and with my uncle were working on a Children's book... about "bands - music."

Walking through woods always a favourite of mine.. living in West Yorkshire very close for such places to visit.

I regard researching answers for questions here on AB as one of my hobbies.

However my main hobby these days is amateur radio, making contacts with other radio amateurs all over the world and experimenting with different types of antennas, etc.

I used to run pub quizzes and, with a big quiz from me coming up in our local community centre soon, it looks like I might be getting back into doing it again.

I also enjoy setting (non-cryptic but, hopefully, tricky) crossword puzzles for others to have a go at.

Lastly, I keep telling myself that I really will get around to finishing the children's novel that I've been writing for ages now!

Going commando, even anonymously on the web would be rude, 237SJ.

Not great for the dining room chairs either. x

I agree. I wouldn't want to sit on the chairs after you in that instance.

Have you tried combining the rally driving and macrame, Douglas9401? Could be interesting.

Arksided, you are indeed lucky to live in a location like that with so much accessible nature.

Buenchico, you should really finish your book. What an accomplishment, and thanks again for your really useful tips on my Lake Como question.

I have a Tesco bag I keep handy for squeamish guests, bring a pudding.
