Breast Screening
8 Answers
I'm worried ... I went for a breast screening a couple of weeks ago and now I have had a letter asking me to come back because 'a technical difficulty resulted in not all the breast being seen clearly on the X ray'. She seemed a very competent operator etc. ... is this just double speak for the fact that they have seen something sinister and want you back to look into it further ???????

If they had found something they would have sent you a different letter entirely. Go back, get them re-done and don't panic about it. Its a good thing they are thorough!
Hi lady p, Please don't worry,I wouldn't think it is much, when my wife went 6 years ago,she sat back down in the waiting area and everyone else gradually went, they then called her back in and told her then that they were concerned, she went for biopsy and she had Breast Cancer, so if anything unusual had been there you would have been back before now,so try not to be over anxious, take care, all will be well, Ray xx
This is one of those things which is destined to put any woman into a blind panic but very often is simply due to the mammogram being blurred in execution. I'm sure that if anything had given them cause for genuine concern they would have telephoned you, rather than writing to you which would have caused a further delay. I did, in fact get a recall myself a few years ago. It turned out that I did have a lump but it was one of those common little benign cysts which come and go. But I didn't breathe out again until it was all over an resolved. If you have bigger boobs apparently, the risk of blurred mammograms increases. Hope your fears are soon put to rest.
