I used to have the depo-provera injection a few months ago but changed to the pill as i thought it was making me slightly depressed. Does anyone else get this side effect as i am wondering that i may have just been down anyway for some reason or another and it may not have been down to the injection.

If that is the case, i'd probably use it again as it was very effective, and i always forget to take my pill.

I think I read that it can have depression as a side effect when I was looking in to it but I can't quite remember. I always found the most effective method of contraception was the implant, I had to have it taken out in the end due to other medical reasons but that was brilliant and I never had any side effects from it. Have you looked in to that?
never had the injection but every type of pill i tryied gave me dirrerent side effects. The first gave me migranes (microgynon) the second made me bleed all the time (ever had a five week period? not pleasant!) and the third really worked, cos it put me right off sex but made me vicious about it. (Ment to say "sorry babe not in the mood" what came out was" take your slimy paws off me or i'll break your wrist!")
I can't take the pill as it makes me suffer from depression (and also turns me into a raving luntic).. Even the Mirena coil with the tiniest amount of hormone sent me barking. And the same as claireyfairy, I had zippo sex drive. I've tried all different ones and the all seem to do the same to me.
sent me round the twist...still has an affect on my life 14 years later - regret ever going near it

i would advise avoidance
