Lumps and bumps.
4 Answers
Is it common to get lumps and bumps on your body. I have a couple of hard lumps, one of which I think is fairly recent on my side. They are only small but I can feel then when I run my finger over them. Are they generally not cause for concern.
I have also had a series of blood tests recently for other things and they have all come back clear. Doctors think I worry too much about my health. Are these lumps perhaps just another case of me looking for things now?

I cannot for the life of me remember the name that some lumps are referred to. That is to say the benign ones, that you can get on your arms or back. They are like a little lump of fat, that is how they feel anyway. I have one on my arm which has been there for a least 5 years. Does not trouble me at all, don't feel anything (pain wise), only know it is there when I rub my arm! My GP did say it was perfectly (h)armless, and told me its medical name, but lack of brain power, stops me from telling you!
Having said that, all mysterious lumps and bumps should be looked at, to ascertain that they are 'nothing to worry about'.
Get it checked out, if only to ease your mind...

Thankx N00dles, I'm hoping thats all they are. I only posted a question because I am away on holiday on Wednesday and wouldn't be able to get a docs appointment. I worried that this is going to ruin my holiday thinking about it. I had read an article that actually reckoned most lumps and bumps are actually nothing to worry about. Hope that was right. Not sure how my blood tests fit in with all this but perhaps the fact that they were all clear is a good thing. Maybe if there had been somethign serious then blood tests would have been different.
Docs said they reckoned I have anxiety issues and have told me to stop worrying and that they think I am fit and healthy.

Just to say I know where your coming from here I went through a really bad time a couple of years ago where my anxiety got so bad I was having panic attacks thinking there was something wrong with me I had all sorts of tests done all of which were clear but I just kepts obsessing about every little thing first it was a lump on my head which turned out to be just a harmless cyst then I went looking for something else to worry about. But I talked it all out with a therapist and after about four weeks I was fine I am not saying that is what you should do but it really changed things for me she gave me exercises to help with the anxiety.Best of luck.
