Deceased Patients in Hospital with pacemakers in will have them removed prior to leaving the mortuary by a pathologist/technician before cremation due to the risk of explosion. Obviously some minor metals can still be burnt or left like dental fillings, known sharpnel etc.. as it would melt down to a small size. Then usually all left pieces would be consecrated in the grounds of the Cremetorium/Cemetery. Hope this helps
Sorry to contradict you chippy1but first off pacemakers are usually removed at the funeral home by a qualified embalmer, they are only taken out at the hospital in the case of a postmortem examination.
No surgical implants are removed prior to cremation after the cremation process these are separated from the human remains the same goes for any jewelery being worn by the deceased.
Some metals do burn off eg the mercury in fillings but most are left behind these remains are collected together by the crematorium staff and buried in consecrated ground on a regular basis
