Hey,
my boyfriend is in complete agony with toothache and can't get any sleep, obviously we'll get to a dentist in the morning but since its 3 in the morning it doesn't help much now ....
I have already read the previous posts on toothache relief but we've already tried ibuprofen (no asprin) , bonjela and oraldene and we've no spirits in the house or oil of cloves.
Any other ideas?

Thanks Leanne2006, He managed to fall asleep about half an hour ago so fingers crossed. We tried ibuprofen but it didn't seem to help and we've no cocodamol in (realising I really need to restock my first aid box!) I'm gonna go to the pharmacy as soon as it opens in five hours but i don't know what to do if he wakes up before then. He's been screaming out in pain and I feel awful because there seems to be nothing I can do for him. Hopefully he'l be able to sleep through unril I can get to the pharmacy.
if all else fails whisky on cotton wool
I'm probably far too late to help you now, but maybe for future reference (although I hope you never have any need of it), when I was in agony with toothache, I dipped some little bundles of kitchen paper in water and froze them - just handy little bits that would fit between my gum and my cheek or that I could keep in place with my tongue - I made lots of them coz they don't last long but, honestly, the relief of the ice was fantastic. Till I got to the scary Dentist anyway. I hope he feels better this morning.....
Try some oil of cloves, a few drops on some cotton wool, it will help numb the pain until your bf can get to a dentist.
oops sorry just read that you have no oil of cloves!!!
i've had this many times and one day at sea the skipper told me to gargle warm salt water around the tooth

abracadabra!!
