If you eat a balanced diet, with minimal carbs and sugars, and exercise regularly and sensibly, and avoid large amounts of alcohol (beer is fattening) you will loose weight.
There is no 'simple' solution.
Weight loss involves pain and inconvenience, followed by pleasure and satisfaction.
Be disciplined, and stick to the regime, and you will loose wieght, tone up, look and feel better.

How often do you drink beer? This could be causing you to put on weight.
You should try to limit your beer swigging sessions to once a week as a treat and cut out alcohol throughout the rest of the week. Slimming pills are a no go, and they are not a permanent solution. You must stick to three healthy meals a day-always eat breakfast-and replace unhealthy snacks with fruit, small portions of unsalted nuts, oatcakes with low fat spreads, reduced fat yoghurts etc instead of eating bags of crisps, chocolate bars etc. Drink lots of water (about 2 litres daily). You must also remember that you are allowed to treat yourself (allow yourself one small treat a day-and am not meaning a whole tub of Ben & Jerry's here).. Also remember that you are allowed that cheeky takeaway every now and again-you've got to give yourself something to look forward to or you'll not succeed! On top of all this you must attempt to exercise at least once every second day (brisk half hour walks do count). When you become fitter and stronger you could vary up your routine -do you enjoy cycling and swimming? It might sound naff but is a good idea if you can't stand the thought of the gym-but you could try workout videos with kickboxing making sure you start off at a level that suits your fitness.
Good luck -let us know how you get on!
