It feels like there is something stuck in my throat although the sensation is not constant. Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that as the days goes on my mouth and throat get drier and drier. When I awake I have to clear my throat of mucus (sorry for disgusting description). Anybody else suffered from same symptons. I have not seen my GP because he is in Wales and I live in Scotland!
It would be a good idea to see a doctor if the symptoms persist. I had a similar problem with the feeling that something was stuck in my throat and my throat was very dry and it got to the point once where I was trying to swallow a grape and it wouldn't go down! My GP sent me for an endoscopy (they stick a camera down your throat) but there was no physical obstruction. They finally decided that the muscles that work in the oesophagus were out of synch and were going into spasm. I took tablets for a while but don't bother now and the problem arises periodically. There could be various explanations for your problem - if your GP is away do you have an NHS walk in centre you could go to?
I not sure if there is a walk in centre here in Glasgow but I will have a look. the guys in work have been filling me in with all sorts of things. My mind doing overtime but I will get it looked at.
Many causes of this - the most common being stress. Stress causes the throat to go into a slight spasm, creating this awful persistent feeling. http://www.voicedoctor.net/therapy/cps.html
Just saw your question. I had similar for a few years on and off and then noticed a slight swelling sometimes at the side of where your adams apple is. I ended up having an op on my thyroid gland which had developed a nodule. Just get it checked as the more it happens, the more bothered you get and the more you think your throat is tightening.
